Schools to hold parent involvement conference

The Anne Arundel County Public School System will hold a conference on parent involvement.

The meeting, called Parent Involvement: Planting the Seeds of Student Achievement, will address ways the school system can boost parent involvement in order to improve student success.

Speakers include Anne Arundel County Superintendent Kevin Maxwell and Daniel Andrews, of Andrews Training and Communications Consultancy.

Participants will choose two one-hour workshops, ranging from Homework Centers at the Public Library to Words That Matter: Building Vocabulary at Home.

The conference will be held March 31 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Carver Staff Development Center on Carver Road in Gambrills.
