Fretting over what to get for those folks who have everything? What could be better than a sure bet for finding something different - while partying with arty folks and supporting good community causes at the same time?

JAM Communications is hosting the 6th Annual ArtHelps Silent Auction from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, with bidding ending at 9:15 p.m. Proceeds from this year’s event will go to Food & Friends and DC Arts Center.

Last year, ArtHelps featured nearly three dozen contemporary paintings,sculptures and handmade jewelry, many selling at fairly affordable prices - while still raising $22,490 for charity. The works are donated by private collectors, businesses and artists from the D.C.-Baltimore region and worldwide. Local artists include Mike Weber and Mary D. Ott.
