These are excerpts from Peninsula police departments’ daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by city.

Belmont

Hit-and-run: At 5:57 p.m. July 31, a hit-and-run accident was reported at U.S. Highway 101 and Ralston Avenue when a white pickup truck sideswiped a bicyclist riding on the overpass to work in the morning. The bicyclist was not injured but wanted to file a report.

Foster City

Underage drinking: At 9:21 p.m. July 31, a woman reported that her 15-year-old daughter was last seen at 3 p.m. with a 19-year-old, who may have provided her with alcohol in San Mateo and is now dropping her at a friend of hers for the night. San Carlos police contacted the youth and transported her to Foster City police to release her to her parent. The teen jumped out of her father’s vehicle on Hatteras Court while en route home and later returned home on her own.

Car break-ins: At 12:05 p.m. Aug. 5, a person reported that two cars were burglarized at Peninsula Jewish Community Center on Foster City Boulevard between 10:30 and 11:50 a.m. A green Acura had a rear passenger window smashed, but nothing was missing. A gray Lexus had a smashed front passenger window; a wallet, containing $900 in cash and several credit/ATM cards, was missing.

Redwood City

Stolen laptop: At 7:52 p.m. July 31, a caller reported a laptop stolen from Redwood House on Redwood Avenue. The caller provided suspect information.

Daly City

Internet scam: At 10:27 a.m. Aug. 2, a person reported grand theft from Behaven Avenue. The person was scammed by an Internet scheme on Craigslist involving fictitious checks, forgery and theft. A $5,000 check was cashed out of England, then cash was sent to North Carolina. The Bank of America on Gellert Boulevard was also the victim of forgery and passing of fictitious check by the suspect.

Burlingame

Begging while bicycling: At 4:54 p.m. Aug. 2, a person from the 500 block of El Camino Real reported that a man in his 20s with dark hair and wearing an orange vest with “United Airlines” on it was asking for money. The suspect was on a bicycle.

South City

Theft: At 11:34 a.m. Aug. 5, a person from the Costco Wholesale on El Camino Real reported a shoplifter, who was still in the store, had taken a Bluetooth and possibly had a blade on him. The 35-year-old suspect was accompanied by another man in his mid to late 20s.
