Travelers through Howard County should watch for maintenance work on the railroad crossing at Old Frederick and Hollifield roads in Ellicott City.

The project, being completed by CSX Railroad, now is expected to begin Monday, and not this week, as originally scheduled, according to county officials.

The project should be completed by Aug. 13.

The crossing will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vehicles will be detoured using Old Frederick Road, Rogers Avenue, Route 40, and Rolling, Fairbrook, Johnnycake and Hollifield roads.

A recorded message at 410-313-3637 will alert motorists of project details and updates.
