It’s a wrap: Sharon Dranko and Joshua Humm won $3,000 each for their inventive prom attire made from tape. Pennsylvania high school students Sharon Dranko and Joshua Humm, with high fashion sense and creative use of duct tape, have been named winners of the eighth annual duct tape “Stuck at Prom” Scholarship Contest. The competition, sponsored by the Ohio-based Duck brand tape, received entries from 160 couples from 44 states and four Canadian provinces. Winners were chosen earlier this month via online voting from a roster of 10 finalists named by a panel of judges. The winners received $3,000 each, as did their school, Center Area High School, in Monaca, Pa. It took approximately three months for Dranko and Humm to finish their outfits. Humm’s striped suit jacket took more than 30 hours. Dranko’s 50-pound dress, with a hoop skirt measuring 5 feet in diameter, required 134 rolls of tape.
