BART station reopens after scare
SAN FRANCISCO -
What turned out to be a bottle of hair spray caused a BART station to be shut down for nearly two hours Friday. A backpack was left alone on a train and had a small container wrapped in black electric tape poking out of it, according to BART spokesman Linton Johnson. The 12th Street Oakland City Center station was evacuated at 6:55 a.m., though trains were allowed through without stopping. Approximately 8:50 a.m., officials determined the suspicious device was harmless hair spray materials. |
