1 dies after double shooting in Prince George’s County

Prince George’s County police officers are still searching for motives and suspects in a Friday night shooting that killed one man and left a woman injured.

District resident Gary David Randall, 23, was pronounced dead on the scene after officers responded to a Temple Hills shooting that occurred in the 4000 block of 28th Avenue. The second victim, an adult female, was shot in the leg and treated at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The two victims were shot while in a vehicle. There is a cash reward of up to $25,000 for any tip that leads to arrest and indictment of the suspects. Anyone with information should call Crime Solvers at 866-411-8477. – Kathleen Miller

Rolling Thunder participant crashes, dies heading to event

A Pennsylvania motorcyclist in town for the Rolling Thunder event died in an accident Sunday morning that occurred as he was riding to the Pentagon. Arlington police were not releasing his name Monday, but said the accident occurred as a Pennsylvania motorcycle group traveled on Interstate 395 North near the George Washington Memorial Parkway exit.

Police say the lead motorcyclist braked suddenly and swerved after he realized he was heading the wrong way. The victim crashed into the lead rider, and three other motorcyclists suffered injuries in the chain-reaction collision that ensued. The victim was taken to George Washington Hospital where he died. – Kathleen Miller

Suspects give up after 5-hour standoff in Prince George’s

Four robbery suspects who holed up in a Prince George’s County apartment complex early Monday morning gave themselves up after a five-hour police barricade, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

After being spotted by an officer, the suspects, at least one of whom was armed, fled into the building on the 5000 block of 62nd Avenue around 5:48 a.m., according to police spokesman Cpl. Clinton Copeland. Three nearby intersections were shut down during the standoff, which ended at 10:45 a.m. when the suspects surrendered. – William C. Flook
