Man accused of threatening former Va. Tech students

A federal grand jury in Roanoke, Va., indicted a Nevada man on charges that he e-mailed threats to former Virginia Tech students on the eve of the anniversary of the massacre of 32 students and faculty at the school.

Johnmarlo Balasta Napa, 27, sent the threats on April 15, according to the indictment signed by acting U.S. Attorney Julia Dudley. On April 16, 2007, Seung Hui Cho killed 32 students and faculty members, then took his own life.

The indictment doesn’t specify the threats, but both former students who received the message felt that they could be harmed, said U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman Brian McGinn. The recipients didn’t know Napa, McGinn added.
