D.C. mayor proposing total ban on fireworks Fireworks could be banned in the District before the Fourth of July holiday if legislation being developed by Mayor Adrian Fenty and the city's fire chief passes the city council. Current law prohibits fireworks that explode, such as Roman candles, and those intended to move after placement, such as bottle rockets. – Leah Fabel Southeast man charged in D.C. shooting death D.C. police arrested a man in the shooting death of a 47-year-old Southeast Washington man last month. Anthony Bradford, 21, of the 1400 block of Bangor Street Southeast, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Robert Talley, 47. Talley was found April 5 lying in the 2500 block of West Street Southeast with gunshot wounds to the chest and hand. – Scott McCabe |
