S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log
SAN FRANCISCO -
These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department’s daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol. ParkCole Valley, Haight, Castro, Twin Peaks, Panhandle Carded: Officers spotted a car with a broken windshield on Sanchez Street at 12:30 a.m. April 29. The plate had an expired registration but showed 2008 tags. The driver didn’t have a license or any other identification besides a medical marijuana card. The officers found seven baggies of methamphetamine in the center console. A backpack in the car also had bags of marijuana and methamphetamine. The driver said he was a medical provider. The officers told him the medical marijuana card didn’t give him permission to sell the marijuana or methamphetamine. CentralFinancial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill Window shopping: Officers observed a suspect peering into vehicles on the 2600 block of Mason Street at 6 p.m. May 1. Once the suspect became aware of the officers, he attempted to evade them. The suspect was identified and found to have an outstanding criminal warrant from San Mateo County. A follow-up investigation revealed a stolen check. TenderloinTenderloin, bordered by Geary, Market and Larkin streets Drug bust: Officers observed a man with a glass crack pipe in his hands at O’Farrell and Jones streets April 27. The officers recovered two rocks of crack cocaine. A computer check revealed the man was on probation for narcotics. RichmondRichmond, most of Golden Gate Park Purse snatching: A woman was walking on the 400 block of 15th Avenue at 4:05 a.m. April 26 when she was approached from behind by two men, one of whom grabbed her by the shoulder and spun her around. Both were armed, and one of the suspects grabbed her purse off her shoulder. She was then struck in the back of the head with an object. The suspects fled south on 15th Avenue toward Anza Street. The victim was taken to a local hospital. |
