Two high school students snagged in drug bust

A Montgomery County drug bust snared two high school students and two adults, with several other students in the county and the District of Columbia implicated in a distribution ring, county police said. Paul Peckham, 18, of the 800 block of Ivy League Lane in Rockville, was arrested Friday with a 17-year-old boy from Bethesda’s Walt Whitman High School and a 17-year-old girl from Potomac’s Winston Churchill High School after police stopped them and found 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana in their car. Police had been watching Peckham’s house and earlier Friday arrested Carlos Marroquin, 21, of Silver Spring, who had allegedly bought eight ounces of marijuana from Peckham. Police say they believe that several students from the Montgomery County schools and Woodrow Wilson in the District had pooled money to purchase the $12,000 in marijuana and distribute it to other teens.
