BALTIMORE -
Columbia teen indicted on murder, assault charges A Howard County grand jury has indicted the Columbia teenager charged in a homicide near the Wilde Lake Village Center. Antajuan Wilson, 19, of Green Mountain Circle, was indicted Wednesday on first-degree murder and assault charges for allegedly shooting to death Bryan Adams, 20, of Suffield Court in Columbia, on a sidewalk April 9 on Twin Rivers Road in Columbia. Howard police said Wilson confessed to the shooting in a statement of probable cause when he was arrested April 12. Adams’ death was the first homicide this year in Howard County. Wilson continues to be held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center. Wilson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 13. Adams was a 2005 graduate of Wilde Lake High School and had several criminal charges, including robbery, marijuana possession and assault, that never turned into convictions. – Carolyn Peirce Teen confesses to shooting man, Annapolis police say An Eastport boy, accompanied by his mother, confessed to Annapolis police that he shot a man who he said robbed him at gunpoint a few weeks ago, police said. The 15-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was charged as a juvenile with first-degree assault Monday and turned over to the Cheltenham Juvenile Facility in Prince George’s, police said. Police found Jawan Tasker, 20, of Annapolis, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds shortly before 3 p.m. Monday near 1006 President St. in the Harbor House Community. Tasker remains in critical condition at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore City. The boy told police Tasker had robbed him a few weeks ago, and they again encountered each other Monday. He told police he shot Tasker with a gun he’d found earlier in the neighborhood, because he thought Tasker was about to pull a gun out of his waistband. – Carolyn Peirce |
