Just another corrupt, self-serving politician? After months on the campaign trail conjuring up stories and fabricating situations ranging from her experience in the White House opposing NAFTA to actively participating in the Irish peace talks and dodging bullets in Bosnia-Herzegovina, it takes a willing suspension of disbelief to think that Hillary Clinton will be anything more than a typical corrupt politician. One who cares nothing about the American public and only desires to forward her personal agenda. The enemy in Iraq must seem like lambs to Gen. David Petraeus compared with the prospect of Hillary becoming president. Luckily the citizens in rural Pennsylvania, Indiana and throughout America understand the need to pray to God that a Democrat does not get into the White House this year. Clinton campaign grasping at straws in Pennsylvania Re: “Steelworkers boo Clinton’s Obama knock,” April 15 Hillary Clinton’s latest nonexistent target is that she is shocked, shocked at Barack Obama’s use of the word “bitter.” Never mind that Obama was trying to describe the reaction of people who have been hurt by the lamentable performance of the Bush years, which is precisely the message of the Democratic Party. Like a TV pitchperson, Hillary has seized upon a word that she thinks will sell, implementing the end-justifies-the-means philosophy that is her guiding light. There are many examples, but the 3 a.m. telephone call ad is as good as any other. That particular cheap shot was undone by her devoted husband, who explained that his 60-year-old wife gets tired at 11 p.m. and can’t be held accountable for anything she says late at night. Jimmy Carter should go back to Plains and stay Re: “Carter gets snub from Israel for meeting with Hamas leader,” April 14 Former President Jimmy Carter only confirms that he is a loose cannon by his proposed visit to Syria, where he plans to meet with Khalid Meshaal, the leader of Hamas. While his attempt at a second term was defeated by his own incompetence in both domestic and foreign policy, Carter still has considerable weight based on his being inappropriately awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Many foreign policy advisers from his administration have high positions with the current presidential candidates. The unilateral actions that the former president has taken during the last 20 years have diminished the ability of our seated presidents to conduct foreign policy. For the good of the nation, he should retire to Plains, Ga., and cease his meddling in the affairs of state, for which he has shown an abysmal lack of qualifications. Heather Mills doesn’t deserve more ink Could The Examiner please refrain from giving any more newsprint to Heather Mills? You are glorifying a type of legal extortion. Exactly how many Beatles songs did she write? $48.6 million worth? Sorry, ladies, this isn’t equality, it’s another form of shameless prostitution. Chuck Jaymes |
