Garrett says no to Ravens, Falcons
Ownings Mills, MD -

Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett has told the Ravens and Falcons he will remain in Dallas.

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti has not arrived at the team’s Owings Mills facility yet today, but is expected to arrive soon, possibly for a second interview with Philadelphia secondary coach John Harbaugh this afternoon.

“We did negotiate with Jason Garrett to become our head coach. In the end, he decided to stay in Dallas,” the Ravens wrote in a statement. “We’re continuing our second round of interviews. We’re excited with the candidates, and we’re confident we will select the best head coach for the Ravens.”

Harbaugh, 45, has emerged as the front-runner to replace Bran Billick, who was fired on Dec. 31.

Garrett met with Ravens officials Tuesday for more than seven hours during his second interview and appeared on the verge of committing to becoming the team’s third coach ever.

But Garrett left the Ravens Owings Mills complex and boarded a plane for Atlanta, where he interviewed yesterday for several hours.
