Alameda-Oakland ferry cancels morning trips
SAN FRANCISCO -
Alameda-Oakland Ferry officials canceled morning trips Friday between Oakland’s Jack London Square, Alameda Main Street and Pier 39 and the Ferry Building in San Francisco due to poor weather conditions. Alameda Harbor Bay Ferry manager Ernest Sanchez said morning trips have been canceled because of storm conditions and said it has not been determined whether ferry service will resume Friday afternoon. There was one Alameda-Oakland Ferry trip at 6:10 a.m. Friday before the rest of the runs were canceled, Sanchez said. Ferry officials hope to know by 2 p.m. when service will resume, he said. The National Weather Service has issued high wind warnings that are expected to be in effect until 4 p.m. Friday. Ernest said commuters may refer to www.alamedaharborbayferry.com for updates on ferry service. |
