Police seek missing suspect after cold-case DNA match

Anne Arundel police are searching for a Silver Spring man whose DNA links him to a cold-case sexual assault from eight years ago.

Ronald Lee Moore, 40, is charged with first- and second-degree sex offenses, unnatural or perverted practice and second-degree assault, among other charges, in connection with a sexual assault that occurred Oct. 23, 1999.

Moore’s last known address is in the 3700 block of Lamberton Square in Silver Spring.

Woman dies after losing control of car on curve

A 28-year-old woman was killed in Finksburg Monday afternoon after apparently running off a curve in the road.

Maryland State Police said Jessica Ann McGonical, of Owings Mills, was driving eastbound at high speed on Deer Park Road in the vicinity of Gracie Drive around 1 p.m. when she lost control on a left-hand curve, left the roadway and struck a tree head-on.

Firefighters and EMS personnel from Gamber and Reese volunteer fire departments declared her dead at the scene. The investigation by state troopers is ongoing. – Matthew Santoni
