If you are driving anywhere around Prince George's County now days you know that the political season has arrived. The September 14th Democratic Primary is only 78 days away and less than that before the Early Voting starts. However under Maryland law candidates for office are prohibited from placing large signs on public property or in the right of way no more than 45 days before the election. Going into the election most people will not look at this issue as major enough to sway their vote but this year things seem a little different with many civic and community groups blasting these signs in different parts of the county. Earlier last week the group People for Change released a video also blasting these signs and their locations around the county with a call for residents to join them in reporting these signs to the Board of Elections. So what is your opinion on this subject? Take our survey to share what you think about these signs and what can be done around this issue.

The plethora of large signs is obnoxious. Large signs add nothing insightful to political races.
Don't you see you are advocating LESS Free speech by endorsing this bad Law ?
The law that this group complains was violated was actually ruled unconstitutional by a court decision several years ago. Since that is the case, what is newsworthy about this story?
Very Interesting. Would you please share the cite for the court decision so everyone concerned can look it up and be better informed about this issue?
Got something to say?
