When Phil and Claire discover a burn mark on the sofa, they try to get a confession out of their children.  When no one confesses, Phil dramatically declares Christmas is canceled.

Jay attempts to revive the Christmas tradition with Manny, but fails to consider their different backgrounds.  Manny and Gloria do not celebrate Christmas in the same manner, in fact, Manny does not believe in Santa Claus.

Cameron and Mitchell wait in line for Santa at the mall.  With their daughter in tow, they demand the fat Santa instead of the skinny one and promptly gets the man fired.  Meanwhile, Cameron is furious after seeing his caroling group perform after they kicked him out.  Sympathetic for the man, Mitchell and Cameron invite the Santa over.

After much turmoil, Alex takes the fall for the burn mark so the family can enjoy their Christmas Eve together.  When it turns out the mark is caused by the sun and a Christmas tree ornament, Phil admits to making a mistake and tells the family they are going to Italy.

After inviting the Santa over, Cameron and Mitchell attempt to confess to their sins, but learns the power of forgiveness from the man instead.  Nevertheless, when Cameron tries to act cordial to the caroling group and is retaliated with more rudeness, the Santa punches the leader and runs away.

After talking to Cameron and Mitchell, Jay decides to start a new Christmas tradition by mixing the two cultural traditions together.  The entire family has a Christmas meal together.
