TRUE BLOOD season three has fans in a frenzy. It's almost akin to an addict waiting for the next fix. With characters like Eric Northman [portrayed by Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård], who is quickly becoming a fan favorite, and the mounting ‘plot' of the series being Sookie's new power, HBO has certainly brought home another hit show.

Season 2 delved deeper into the intertwining storylines of the Stackhouses, Jason and Sookie, and their friends. Jason found his religion by becoming a member of a cult-like church. While climbing the ranks of his new faith, he crossed a line of lust which unhinged everything he's grown to believe. On a different side of town, Sookie realized she was not the only telepath along the southern borders.

While the Stackhouses had their own business to attend, last season Tara was overpowered by a maenad named Maryann. Maryann controlled the lives of others in an attempt to bring forth a marital ritual to invoke the god Dionysus. Lafayette, Tara's cousin, was held captive by Eric and his subjects for selling V-blood-  little do they know the true source of the V-blood dealings.

With the underlining sub-plot of finding Godric, Eric's maker, territories and passions clashed when Sookie crossed the Louisiana and Texas border into Dallas to help rescue Godric.  But hold on to your remote controls, Season 3  ignites a love triangle between Sookie, Bill and Eric, something fans have suspected and perhaps, implored for several episodes. There's also a new vamp in town and we learn the history behind the women in Tara and Lafayette's family.

The series is based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries novels by Charlaine Harris,  Starring Anna Paquin, Rutina Wesley, Stephen Moyer and produced by Alan Ball; True Blood does for the small screen and adults what Twilight brings to the big screen for the youth, an inexplicable fascination for a romantic dark side.

By now it's no secret how artists are jumping on the band wagon of the True Blood publicity reel, including rapper/ actor Snoop Dogg, who recorded a song and video dedicated to Anna Paquin's character Sookie. The video has already broken a million views on You Tube.

True Blood is for mature audiences. Parental guidance for children under 17.  True Blood seasons 1 & 2 available on DVD.

TRIVIA:  what True Blood cast member has a father who also acts and sings.  This famed actors has starred in movies like Ronin, Pirates of the Carribean and The Slingshot.
