Popcorn theology comes to Bardstown Road

As the weather turns warm, the days grow longer, the sun beats down on us a little more than usual, our thoughts turn to summer...what are we going to do?

"Fishing" is the answer I usually get--I must be surrounded by fishermen.  Other have shared their stories of vacations, summer camps for the kids and work at home projects.  Busy.

We are a busy city here in L-ville, rushing and running from one thing to another we forget to stop, to listen.  We are a city of Marthas aren't we?  We focus on the details, the nitty-gritty practical stuff when we should be stopping, taking a seat with Mary at the foot of Jesus and taking time to listen.

Summer is a time for renewal, for stopping to rest, to listen, to hear the words of Jesus through His voice or the voice of one next to you.  It's time for family.

Bardstown Road Presbyterian seems to have recieved that message.  To kick off this warm weather season, they are hosting "Movies in the Parking Lot".  Movies will be shown, drive-in style in their parking lot at 1722 Bardstown Rd.

Refreshments will be available and all movies are family focused, the first movie is "Seabiscuit" and will show May 7, 2010 at dusk.  For more information go to http://brpres.org/moviesparkinglot.htm.

Enjoy some some time with family and a bit of popcorn theology sprinkled in!
