Would I still take care of my body with only a moth to live?
Welcome to and congratulations on reaching Day 5 of the One Month to Live challenge. Our day 5 topic is the Oxygen Mask: Breathing First.

Yes, this is the airline safety brief. Having survived over a thousand commercial airline flights, I can recite the safety brief in my sleep. In the event that the masks drop from the overhead, put your mask on first, then assist others around you.
Likewise, we must take care of ourselves before we can care effectively for others. You might be thinking, if I only have thirty days left in this body, what does it matter?
If you only had thirty minutes to live, it might not matter; but even in a month’s time, how we treat our bodies—our temples—will impact the physical and emotional quality of our life. If you are thinking, I’ll just go out with a caffeine and chocolate buzz like none before me; let me know how that’s working out after day 4.
We can’t change our bodies overnight, but we can take care of them better. Without getting caught up in the image hungry worship of the world, we can seek a healthy lifestyle—even during our last 30 days. We want to be healthy, so we can get more oxygen to our bloodstream.
We need oxygen for our physical bodies. We also need to understand our emotional selves. Paul wrote to a young pastor named Timothy and told him that God did not give him a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and self control.
We shouldn’t live—even in our last days—with a spirit of fear. We won’t so long as we are connected to our spiritual oxygen.
