Game On: Living it up

Congratulations!! You made it to day 30!!!

Congratulations! You made it to day 30.

If for some reason you jumped ahead to day 30, then you missed some good exploration—especially concerning integrity, patience, and God using our storms and struggles in our lives. May I suggest that you simply trust that this article will be here later, when it really is day 30 on your personal calendar.

But we do live in an immediate gratification society.
Just get me my burger!
Why is my download taking so long?
Let’s just get this over with!
One day our life will be over. That is not only the premise of this study, but an unavoidable fact. So how will we live? For the vast majority of us, we will live more than a month, but will these past 30 days of exploration and discovery change how we live them or will this just be another notch on our belt for programs that we have completed without any real change in our lives. Ask yourself this question.
Will the effort that I have put into this challenge make any difference in my life?
Not everyone will make every change that they thought they should as they went through this month; however, we all should make some change. The truth about what a truly wonderful gift this life is should propel us to some action. But what action? Where do I begin? What matters most to me?
I suggest that you trust what you believe you are passionate about and get passionate about it. Being filled with passion on a few things produces much more fruit for you, the Body of Christ, and God than trying to do everything you thought you would do in your finals days as a to do list—as items to be completed just for the sake of finishing the list. We have lived too much of our lives just going down the list. Find something that you know is what God wants you to do and get excited about it. Take the first steps today. Tell somebody else what you are doing—make at least this small public commitment. Then get after it like there is no tomorrow.
Do you know what you will pour your passion into? Good!
Now let’s reduce the drag on our passion. Let’s go full speed without a hundred pound pack on our backs or pulling a plow behind us. We are running a race and need to shed some excess weight. Whatever resentment, contempt, hate, regret, guilt, self-righteousness, sanctimoniousness, selfish pride, and doubt—and doubt—needs to be left at the cross today.
But I’ve been able to carry all of this stuff so far. Let me just pursue my passion and take care of that stuff when the time is right. Sounds like a wonderful plan. The time is right, now drop all of that mess and pursue your passion.
But…
Butts get splinters in them from sitting on the fence of indecision. JUST DO IT! Live your life to the full without worrying about failure. You will trip and fall and skin your knees a few times and in the process discover that this is so much better than sitting in a glass box just observing others live.
Visualize this simple encounter.
You have lived your life and are about to embrace Jesus in person. He is waiting to wrap his arms around you. Before you do that, think of the things still incomplete in your life. What did you wish you had done that you did not do? How much undone stuff will be on your heart at the end of this life?
While you are living—that means beginning today—change your life so that when that first embrace from our Master and Friend comes, we will not be looking back. We will run to Jesus.
That means if we have things that are not important—cast them away now.
If we have things that are very important—do them now.
Live this life fully, passionately, and without regret. Truly live like you are dying.

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start now and make a brand new ending. –Carl Bard

Here are the make it count for life challenges.
1.       Continue the One Month to Live lifestyle.
2.       Take a full day for yourself where you can reflect on the past 30 days worth of discovery. Make this day an investment in the rest of your life.
3.       Share your 30 day challenge experience with a friend over lunch or coffee. Ask them what they would do if they only had 30 days to live.

This video has a message about cancer, but it ismostly about living.
