Pregnancy in Colorado is about choice. Choice of care provider for mother and baby, choice in where to give birth, choice in the birth support team, and choice in the method to prepare for the important work of giving birth. Hypnobirthing, Birthing From Within, and the Bradley Method are some of the top childbirth preparation approaches available to families today.
But what do these approaches represent? How does a family decide on the best method for their unique birthing situation? The answers to these questions and more will be presented to Colorado families on March 15, 2010 as part of an ongoing series known as BirthChat.
This month during BirthChat, mothers and families are invited to meet four childbirth preparation instructors who will give short presentations on Hypnobirthing, Birthing From Within, the Foothills Childbirth Education Association, and the Bradley Method. During this time participants will be offered a preview of varied childbirth preparation methods and will have an opportunity to discuss these approaches and ask questions.
BirthChat is a monthly event sponsored by The Family Journey, a Colorado non-profit organization that works to unite activists, birth professionals, care providers, and community members with the goal of promoting an attitude of informed understanding and calm anticipation around pregnancy and birth.
BirthChat events take place the third Monday of each month beginning at 6:00pm in The Tap Room at Catalyst Coffee located at 3501 S. Shields in Fort Collins. Visit The Family Journey website for more information about this and other BirthChat events.
