LISTEN: John McCain slams Jimmy Carter as possibly 'the worst President in history'

(AP Photo/Mic Smith)

A typically blunt John McCain blasted Jimmy Carter on radio this week as the worst President of the 20th century, if not the worst in history.

Carter’s pessimism and weakness caused him to lose the trust of the American people and eventually the support of his own party’s political leaders.

Carter has not acquitted himself well in his post-Presidency either, with his constant apologia for Palestinian terrorism and his recent history of race baiting for Obama.

Asked by radio host Michael Medved about his thoughts of Carter’s assertion that opponents of Obama are racist, McCain stated:

“I’m deeply disturbed by those accusations because it’s a unfair and untrue commentary on the American people and them exercising their god-give rights to disagree with the administration. It seems to me that President Carter has earned his place as – if not the worst President in history – certainly the worst in the twentieth century.”

McCain’s passionate statement may be slightly overblown; you can always count on John to defend Americans in the strongest terms possible.

If looked at objectively, there are at least three other very strong candidates for worst President of the 20th century – and probably an additional six candidates for worst President ever. And, yes, they come from both parties and from a myriad of political ideologies.

However, McCain’s broader point is correct– Carter was just about as inept a chief executive as any man who has ever held the office, and he remains a political hack and national embarrassment even today.

Thanks for the irony of Mr. McCain's remarks, D.K. It's Wars of Aggression, torture, the Military Commissions Act locking-up "enemies" forever, blind support of Israel's war crimes in Gaza, AND John's beloved Vietnam War that cause a deserved loss in trust in Mr. McCain and his war criminals.

Geez Carl, the guy just spoke the truth. I notice you don't refute the fact but go off on a typical "George W Bush" style of rant. Nonpartisan indeed.

But don't worry, at the rate Obama is going I am fairly confident he will steal the title from Carter in 2012.

I am in total agreement with the statements in this article. And yes Barry will be looked back on as the single most detrimental president in American history, unless his absolute failure and exposure can open the eyes of Americans as to the level of corruption in politics across the board… That is the only favor he can offer us.

Carter and now Obammie; definately the two worst presidents to date. The more they talk, they dummer they look. It's obvious, watch their expressions. Even the stooges Obammie has sitting behind him, the ones that jump up and down and clap on cue look stupid.

Carter is definitely one of the worst POTUS of all-time, however, at this rate obama might even eclipse Jimmy of that distinction. McCain is one of the sorriest candidates for POTUS in history, and I'm angry at myself for wasting a vote on this traitor, people in AZ. need to vote that phony out ASAP.
