According to POLITICO, Obama’s fans in the Beltway are shocked, shocked that he and his White House minions scapegoat White House General Counsel Greg Craig for Obama’s failed promise to close Guantanamo in one year.
The closing of Guantanamo – as Obama’s critics have long predicted – ain’t gonna happen, because there’s no place else to put the hardcore terrorists currently housed there. When Obama announced his dubious executive order closing Guantanamo by January 2010, the Kool-Aid drinkers were ecstatic. “See?” they said, “This is why we elected him. We were so right.”
No, they were so wrong. It was a boneheaded, half-baked plan then, and it still is. The order was issued with nary a thought as to where to move Guantanamo’s detainees – another example of the President making moves just for show.
Once it became clear that the President could not possibly honor his Guantanamo pledge, the humiliated White House blamed Greg Craig – a respected D.C. insider – smeared and undermined him with constant leaks before forcing his resignation this past week.
Those fools amongst the pundits and politics who still believed Obama was a stand up guy could not understand how Obama could treat Craig so shabbily. After all, Craig had turned his back on longtime friends and colleagues – Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton – to support Obama long before almost anyone else. Craig had known Billary since the early seventies, had served in the Clinton White House, and had defended Bill during impeachment. Heck, Craig even smeared Hillary on foreign policy during the campaign with a widely distributed memo.
Craig was loyal to Obama. Obama repaid him with one of the most heinous backstabs of his nascent tenure.
No one should be surprised that Obama cannot be trusted, or that traitor Craig finally got repaid for his Clinton-bashing. They need only look at the fates of Alice Palmer, Rev. Jeremiah “G-D America” Wright, Van Jones, and Howard Dean among others for a primer on how this works: you support Obama and help build him to where he is, when he no longer has any use for you he rolls over you in his bus.
Obama loyalty earns you nothing. That has been Obama’s modus operandi from long ago. Craig got what he earned.

I remember the days when Greg Craig used rather unethical means to vilify Hillary Clinton and endear himself to the Axelrod obamamotic response team. He is a petty man whose disloyalty to the Clintons to attach himself for a few rubles to the likes of a sexist, race-card-playing campaign did not pay off. Thank zeus for that!\
