Beginning January 2010, proceeds from Good things celebs do, live The Good Life too will support  Friday Flowers. One Friday each month, this pilot project will gift someone in need of hope with a flower delivery.

Recipients are nominated by newsletter subscribers like you. The first recipient has already been chosen, with flower delivery in the works for mid January. 

The project is inspired by my experience as a co-owner/operator of Flowerama 189 in Glendale, Arizona. During the height of the shop's success, my business partner sold it without my permission, and took off with the dough. During that time I learned a lot of tough lessons. Most importantly, I learned that flowers make people smile. 

Like it? Lend a hand! Here are a few ways to help.

Share. Examiner.com pays approximately ten cents per reader per article, so may subscribers are needed. Currently, there are enough earnings for one delivery a month. As the readership grows, more flowers can be delivered. So as you receive your daily newsletter, Tweet it (use that nifty button above), Facebook it and best of all, forward it to a friend.

Write a note. Hand written notes of encouragement will accompany each flower delivery. Get your group to gather around something good by creating hand-written cards. It's an easy bonding activity for teams, companies, Girl Scout and Brownie Troops, volunteers, clubs... you name it.

Nominate. Know someone who needs hope? We may send flowers to anyone in the U.S. To place a nomination, send an email of no more than 300 words to lara@larapiu.com. If your nominee is chosen, we will ask you to deliver the flowers personally, to take pictures, and if possible, to film a video clip so readers can share the experience.

Write an article. Do you have an article on the Good things celebs do, or livin' The Good Life too? Share it with our readers.
