Every Thanksgiving I can remember began with Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. After nearly 83 years, the legendary parade is making a bold change by carving out a new route (see map, left).
This Thanksgiving, live The Good Life too and create out your own route with a new and improved holiday weekend. Here are a few ideas.
Friday
Get movin'. Instead of the mall, take a trek outside. Bundle up and take a long-overdue visit to a favorite park, trail or national forest. The fresh air will feel so good after a long Thanksgiving Day.
Saturday
Get lit. Search this events calendar to see who's lighting up the night. This is a great chance to get a good look at the festive holiday lights before the season gets too busy to stop and stare.
Sunday
Get control, the remote control, that is. Sit down with the fam damily and check out a new Christmas movie. Try ABC Family's "The Dog Who Saved Christmas," at 8/7 and 10/9 Central.
