You know anything about starlings?

A starling is a bird common to temperate climates here and in Europe and Asia. They tend to be dark-feathered fellows with several sub-species and when they migrate with the weather change, they migrate big --huge flocks in the thousands of birds flying in tight, sphere-like formation.

But the as they fly, they frequently expand and contract, changing shape to create all sorts of amazing formations in the sky. They shift those shapes to confuse and ward off predators. Bird watchers and bird photographers like the U-K's Paul Hobson love to snap off dozens of pics, hoping to catch these fascinating shapes. Here are three of Hobson's photos:
