Sarah Palin is still trying to shop a reality series and, after being turned down by the major broadcast networks, A&E Networks and the Discovery Channel have expressed an interest.
The series, produced by Mark Burnett of Survivor fame, would follow Palin as she gives a guided tour of Alaska.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, "A&E Networks hasn't officially put in a bid for the project, but the company apparently is interested in the project for several of its brands: A&E, History or Lifetime."
Discovery likewise is vying for the project for one or more of its outlets, including TLC.
The trade paper says "Palin is asking for $1 million-$1.5 million per episode, a hefty amount for a first-year cable series."
Neither network would comment, but one insider predicted that the show would sell "one way or another."
As for the major networks, it's possible they turned her down because of impending conflicts should Palin return to politics. (She's scheduled to speak with activists at a May 01 shindig in Michigan.)
But what better way than a reality show to find out someone's not cut out to be in politics? Who knew the Bridge to Nowhere led to a reality TV show on a secondary cable network.

NatGeo does a good enough job of showing me Alaska.
uh, it not a reality show. It is a history and people show. The term reality show gives the impression of a trash tv show.
But then again, you would think anything she does as trash.
Socialist takeover says: uh, it not a reality show. It is a history and people show. The term reality show gives the impression of a trash tv show.
Take it up with Mark Burnett and the industry. That's who's calling it a reality show, and all reality TV is trash. As for thinking anything Sarah Palin does is trash, that's incorrect. Palin is a dynamic and likable person but one of little substance. That's not a crime.
Not as many people like her as the media thinks. I have yet to speak with anyone who doesn't think she is a ditz, especially after abandoning her job as Govenor of Alaska. Duh! I for one won't have her crammed down my throat anymore.
So she can have all the "reality" TV shows in the world and it won't change how she is perceived and will only reinforce her weaknesses.
I say let her have her reality show as long as she doesn't do the editing.
Another reason not to have cable!
If it's truly a reality show, she should start with Wasilla and explain how she managed to put that city into debt to the tune of twenty million dollars. Then she should show all the US govt subsidized, built, and maintained bridges, roads, buildings, boats, docks (some with their own helipad landing zone!) planes, etc - explaining the whole time how it's all been done with US taxpayer's money solely for the Alaskans. She can do a whole series on the pipeline that isn't built yet, and explain how it'll be other people's time, effort, and committment that manage to get it done.
Then she can show off the multimillion dollar mansion she's building on her private lake, the one the local government had to make special zoning allowances for.
Got to hand it to her - for someone who hates the media, she sure knows how to get them to pay her!
Sensational Sarah Palin is easily worth a million bucks per episode, and more. She is super hot!
Got something to say?
