Sam Bradley is the latest UK sensation to hit the United States. Bradley is making waves with his soulful music.
I recently asked Bradley some questions, and as you'll see, Bradley is not only one of the most talented musicians, but he is extremely sarcastic and funny. I know what your thinking, accent, funny, and talented. Just not fair.
1. Tell me about your background? (where did you grow up, where did you go to school, age -- etc) I grew up in London England, and I was born on August 29th 1986. I went to school. Is this a dating site?
2. How did you get started in music?
I started by working for mum's music night once a week as a waiter at 15. I saw many different talented singer songwriters including my mother. I did not play guitar at this point. My mum bought me a guitar at 16 but it took me over a year to pick it up. I learnt 2 chords and then proceeded to write my first song. It was called "What made her leave" Not my best but its sweet!
3. What instruments do you play? -- How did you learn them?
I play acoustic guitar. I am self taught. I learnt some piano when I was young but I didn't like practicing so I remember nothing. I can play the black keys only. I also learnt to play the drums but now all I can do is bang... badly
4. I've noticed that a lot of the venues you play are small, intimate. Do you enjoy playing at these places?
Absolutely. At this stage it is perfect. It would be really sh**y paying venue fees for a stadium to have just my direct family there. It could go down in history though. Maybe its worth the investment. I can see the headlines!!
5. What made you decide to come play some venues in the United States?
America is where a lot of my audience is. Its also been a dream of mine.
6. How have the fans received your music here in the US?
Wonderfully!
7. Will a lot of the songs on your My Space page be featured on your new CD?
No. They will however be recorded again for a future album.
8. How has the writing/recording process been for you? How do you sit down to write a song?
This is always a tough question for me to answer because it is different every time. The last time I wrote a song. I was on a bed and I started strumming with my feet. It sounded terrible so I picked up my guitar and wrote a song.
9. What category would you consider your music? -- Folk/Alternative/Acoustic?
I think I am in a few categories. When you hear you will see.
10. Who, if you could choose anyone, would you want to collaborate with on an album?
My friends Marcus Foster, Rob Pattinson, Bobby Long, Tom Sturridge, Gus Mcniece Jeronimo Mohar, and Bob Dylan. Oh and my band!! There are may people I can list but I want everyone involved. Like a big Hippie sing a long. My voice would be the loudest though!
11. On My space you have a bunch of videos up. It seems that some of them you recorded yourself. Were those done at your apartment? Any reason why you recorded them yourself and then put them online?
The reason was so the songs could be heard. They have been made in may different places I have lived.
12. What can fans look forward to on your new album? Any duets with anyone? How many songs did you write?
I have written 6 songs in the E.P. No duet but my sister Grace is singing backing vocals.
13. Whats next for you? -- Will there be another tour in the United States? Are you heading back to the UK?
I will be touring much of the world and making an album. Then touring and then album. Charity work. Rest. Marriage. Tour/ Album. Kids. Album. Tour. Charity. Adopt. Charity Tour. Kids. Divorce. Album. Re-marry. Tour. Kid. Grandchildren. Album. Die. Legend.
14. Can you give me a hint as to anything on the new CD? -- Did you shoot the cover?
I have never shot anything.
15. Where can people get the most updated information about you and your music?
Myspace.com/sambradley www.sambradley.com or facebook and I have a Twitter... I am samueltwitt1
16. I see you have twitter, is that truly your account? -- If yes, do you post on it yourself?
Of course I post on it myself. I thought that was the point. I actually manage most of the online outlets. Hopefully not for long!!! I want to be an artist. I semi kid. I love reading and responding when I can. I know many peoples names and faces because of it.
17. Anything you want to say to your US fans?
Nope nothing in particular.
18. Do you have any good road stories? How has it been traveling from one place to another? -- What do you travel in?
I'm sure I will. I am thinking and I will say that I was and am just very concentrated at making this opportunity mine. I want to do this forever. So it was early to bed every night. Due to whiskey of course!
19. How does singing on stage in front of people, having them watch your videos online, and be waiting to meet you after a show, feel like? -- Do you like meeting fans after shows?
I do like meeting people yes. Sometimes people get aggressive and that I do not enjoy. I am not talking Physically. Some people can be really rude and inconsiderate to the fact that I just shared my fu**ing soul on stage for an hour and a half and the come straight out to talk to everyone and to take pictures. I am out there for 2 - 3 hours making sure I give as much to the individual standing in front of me and "some" get mad stressing that the last time I met them I was grumpy and an a** and that they were not going to come and see me again. Sorry I am rambling. This is not a complaint about the meet and greet. This is a complaint about consideration and rudeness. I love doing this. Why do some people want to try and change that? They always stress to me that they like the show though! Its funny really!
20. Do you have any new projects in the works?
I have many!

Good interview. I've seem Sam perform many times and I truely believe that he does pour his "f*%cking soul", as he so artfully put it, into each and every performance.
He is such a sweet, polite, appreciative guy. How much do people expect a performer to give? Someday Sam you may just have to tell people to pi$$ off!
