Last night Michael Jackson's new song 'This Is It' (a demo from the Dangerous era in the 1990s was released. Paul Anka as it turns out was a co-writer, and he wanted an apology from the Jackson estate, because they didn't "properly acknowledge him as a co-writer." According to E Online, MJ's "estate administrator John McClain called him up to make amends." Anka reportedly told McClain, "It's fine if it's an honest mistake. These things happen."
The Jackson estate released the following statement: "The song was picked because the lyrics were appropriate because of the name Michael gave his tour," McClane and coadministrator John Branca said. "We are thrilled to present this song in Michael's voice for the first time, and that Michael's fans have responded in unprecedented numbers. The song was co-written by the legendary Paul Anka."

The song is ok, lyrics are wonderful but it's not what everyone expected.
Why on earth did Sony and the estate not know this - particularly as Branca represented both MJ and Paul Anka at that and 'facilitated' the return of the 'stolen' tapes to Paul Anka.
Is this just a setup to get more publicity?
More to the point - WHY on earth is SONY not releasing tracks that fans have been clamouring for for over 20 years - the BAD TOUR Wembley stadium concert for example - we only have teaser snippets to listen to - search youtube for
Exclusive - Michael Jackson Bad Tour Wembley
and you'll see what I mean
It falls short.
And it's rediculous to think Sony execs didn't know that Paul Anka (one of the worlds greatest songwriters BTW)co-wrote the song.
