In what is sure to excite scores of Michael Jackson fans, the announcement regarding the This Is It DVD and Blu-ray release has been made. On January 26, 2010, the film will be available.
According to ABC News: "The DVD of This Is It will carry a suggested retail price of $28.96 and the Blu-ray version an SRP of $39.95. A PlayStation Portable disc is also planned, priced at $24.94."
Both the DVD and Blu-ray will include extra footage, not shown in theatres. Variety reports that: "The standard DVD ($28.96) will contain an hour of extra footage, and the Blu-ray version ($39.95) will hold an additional hour and a half of material."
Both the DVD and Blu-ray "carrying a Dec. 24 pre-order date, include two making-of documentaries." These documentaries are reported to be "three featurettes, covering costuming, memories of Jackson and auditions of the concert dancers."
