Kristen Stewart star of Twilight and New Moon is working on a new film in which she plays a young Joan Jett in the upcoming biopic The Runaways. It is being reported that she cried after the iconic rocker gave her a hard time on set last week.
Kristen, best known for her role as Bella in the Twilight films, burst into tears after Joan harshly critiqued her performance in front of the rest of the cast.
“Joan just wants Kristen to play an authentic version of herself, so she needled her a little bit too much. But she apologized when she realized how upset Kristen got,” a spywitness told The NY Daily News Tuesday.

I woke up today and did not expect the amount of messages I received about Kristen Stewart. I just want to say this, I feel bad for her and what she has to go though on a daily basis. There were dozens of paparazzi waiting to attack her all day and she couldnt even walk around without being covered. So in respect of that I dont want to get into every detail of her but I do want to say is it was pretty surreal to be in the same room, let alone 3 feet from her and that she really kicks ass as Joan Jett. She was very into her roll and she is a very very professional actress.
So yes thats it :]
But yesterday was a blast. I listened to her sing "I love playing with fire" about 55 times. The girls in her band were very nice and very cool. Joan Jett was also there hanging out and giving rocking out tips all day. It was pretty amazing to see Kristen right next to Joan. She looked just like her.
I rollerskated my butt off for 8 hours ( at the world on wheels rollerskating rank in La, not the safest looking place in the world ) and "had" (haha I was paid to kiss my boyfriend, such hard work ) to kiss my boyfriend about 15 times. It was a long day and make up and hair and wardrobe took about 3-4 hours. The rollerskating rank was piled with fake trash and fake band flyers and was a little tough to skate through. Luckily, hardly anyone fell. The girls in the band played until about 10 at night and we continued to film until midnight.
Ive also been asked how I was involved. I was told about the audition through a friend who knew they were looking for "punk rock" girls for the movie and said he obviously thought of me. I went and was called. Nothing crazy, no lines or anything like that for now ( although that would be very rad! )Ive only done one day but could be called for more. I'll def twitter about that as it happens. It was really amazing though to get to watch it all happen and actually be there and just that in itself was amazing enough for sure.
Keep those fingers crossed though!
I posted some pictures from the set but thats it due to respect for other people. Thats the set where the girls were playing with the band where we were. Behind that was the scene we filmed. The others are of Brad (my bf) getting ready. The last one is Kristens chair.
So hope that satisfies everyone "Kristen" interests.
Update: fri. 6/26 Because of all the attention this blog received, not to mention being quoted on Perezhilton.com, I thought it was best to take down the pictures. This is why I REALLY didnt want to say anything personal? You totally understand :] But I went on another call today for the movie so maaaaaybe you'll be getting lots more news ;]

I have no doubt Joan wants the movie to be perfect but you don't get good performances by going off on people especially in front of other co-stars. Joan should calm down and let Kristen do her job. Kristen has enough pressure without JJ be so agressive with her.
Jett has a reputation for being a bit of a meanie, so this is not unexpected. But if it happens again, the director should take control and ban her from set. The most important thing is making a good film and getting good performances, and harranguing the stars until they are in tears sounds counterproductive to say the least. ON the other hand, it worked for Herzog...
Kristen is an amazing actor and I think she'll do an amazing job as usual, I would have also cried if I were in her place so I understand her.
I don't believe that a director would or should ever let that happen... if you are going to yell at someone for not being enough like them, well maybe that person could not believe that someone would ever carry themselves or act that way in REAL life...I remember the JJ era. She was alittle extreme maybe that is why her career was so short?
i doubt any of this is true. i mean, we've all seen and heard about kristen and joan's close relationship, and how they spent a lot of time together [reportedly even on new years day]. i seriously question the validity of this article.
and as for speculation as to kristen's work schedule, i feel a bit of sympathy for her. she's 19, working on several movie productions at one time, and dealing with the hounding paparazzi and everything that comes along with that all at the same time. she certainly has a full plate.
Look, Joan Jett is still a successful touring artist. I count her up there with Pat Benetar and Patti Smith and Chrissy Hynde as female rock icons. No doubt she can be tough as balls. She is also executive producer, and yes she has a say in how it's gonna be done!
I think Kristen is way too used to being told how wonderful she is, and she appears to not deal well with criticism. Kristen herself is is often accused of being icy, rude and tough as balls. So I can only imagine what it took to break her down like that. Maybe she needed it though. Only the tough survive show business.
This story came from Perez Hilton and is totally bogus. He shows a picture of Kristen running as he says away from jj. What a load of &^%$^&...She was shooting a movie scene and Joan was encouraging her. That was when she fell when she was running. It's on YOU TUBE. You can watch it. She never cries in that scene. These people should get their act together. This 19 year old girl is shooting back to back to back movies with no rest. The cast is working 7 days a week so that they can finish on time because of the Eclipse starting date of August 17th. So whether you think she can act or not. Cut the girl some slack.
