The former American Idol finalist Adam Lambert has attained success since being catapulted to fame by the show. This week, Lambert has sold almost 54,000 copies of "Whataya Want From Me." In a new interview the singer offers insight into his Susan Boyle comment, as well as the comment that Gene Simmons has made.
According to a new report, "Kris Allen easily passes the million mark this week with Live Like You're Dying. Selling more than 57,000 downloads, it comes in at No. 22 on Nielsen SoundScan's Top Digital Tracks chart. Adam Lambert comes in at No. 23, selling almost 54,000 copies of Whataya Want From Me." A big congratulations to Lambert for continuing to do so well.
Lambert says of being open about his sexuality: "I think just being visible and proud of who I am gives the right message." He continued: "I think empowerment is a great gift to give to people. And it doesn't have to be about just my gay fans, I want my female fans to feel comfortable in their own skin and feel sexy. Hopefully my music promotes that."
When asked about his comment on Susan's Boyle album he explains: "It came across a bit harsher than how it actually went down. But I'm not a fan of the record, it wasn't a lie."
Lambert also addresses the fact that Gene Simmons of KISS said that he should have remained silent about his sexuality saying: "For someone to criticise me talking about my sexuality and say, 'America doesn't care about what you do behind closed doors and it's going to kill your career,' well that's funny because all he talks about is how many women he's slept with."

I think Adam is so talented; I am not at all surprised at his current success. I can not wait until "Sleepwalker" (the accoustic rendition) is available for purchase - my computer stalls during the best part when I download off the internet. Hopefully he will have an acoustic version of his album soon!

Wild Angel is right! He is the most compelling, magnetic and original artist to come on the scene in a very long time. His voice is spectacular and rich with varied tones...I listen to his CD constantly and can't wait for his next one! I love his up-beat electro-pop songs. They are so much fun to dance to and are great for aerobic workouts. Keep it up, Adam!

54,000 is a whole lot of buyers especially for these days. Most people I know do illegal downloads, not me! I buy and that is because I support my artists. I do have to admit I bought Sus B's CD for my parents but no I only liked that one song she did on the show. So again I back Adam Lambert. Gene Simmons is old and yeah when he was rocking his young days all he talked about was how much ****y he got so why is he slamming on Adam? I hope Adam keeps selling WWFM I think it could go to the top on the charts. Wish I could hear it more on the radio.

The "post idols" Adam - having shown his "true colours" - has proved himself to be an unbalanced, dysfunctional, crude, immature, jealous and unprofessional package of self centred insecurity. Whether or not his music appeals to a person is a separate issue - we are all free to enjoy the music we prefer - but he should accept the fact that as sales are representative of listener preference he really isn't that popular.

I have been a fan of Adam since Idol and have always thought he was an honest, straight up guy. Adam's a nice guy, always classy and humble. Adam has gone on to great success. He has a gold CD in two countires. His single will undoubtly go platinum. It was released two months after Kris's and on track. Congrat's too to Kris. Adam is the only idol ever to be sent on an International promo. All previous idols have only been sent to the Phillipines. Adam has been on Oprah, he's wildly popular and has a strong fanbase. Congrats Adam.

The decidedly bizzare reaction by gays, in particular, to any critisism of Adam is revealing. Why are they so hung up about their own sexual orientation that they immediately have to play the "gay" card in Adams's defence.
