Everyone has a campy B-movie favorite. Killer Klowns From Outer Space, anyone? - In Space No One Can Eat Ice Cream! Now, SyFy is providing online fans with the chance to create the ultimate monster movie, granting almost total control over every aspect involved in the process.
Everything from the title, the wardrobe, the dialogue, the taglines to the character deaths will be pitched and voted by the fans to produce an original two-hour SyFy movie scheduled for release next year.
"We constantly have fans e-mailing with compliments, complaints and questions about our movies, and this is a way of involving the fans in a new way," executive VP programming and original movies, Thomas Vitale explained. "This is where entertainment is going and just the start of many more things of this nature for SyFy."
The network, which established a 15 month partnership with IGN for the project, is set to launch B Movie Mogul (the production site where the magic takes place), this Friday. Picking the movie concept will be the first order of business with fans choosing from a Bermuda Triangle creature feature, an Apocalypse tale or an alien flick set in Roswell.
