Michael Vick invited to get naked for animals

AP Photo

NFL star Michael Vick has been offered a chance to exhibit his goodwill toward animals by posing naked for Playgirl.

The 29-year-old quarterback, who served 21 months in prison on felony charges related to animal cruelty and dogfighting back in 2007, was extended an invitation to model for the magazine in exchange for a $1 million donation to PETA, the world-renowned animal rights organization.

"I sent the request to Michael Vick on Wednesday. But we haven't heard back yet. I figured he paid back society for dogfighting, but what about the animals?" a spokesperson for Playgirl told Life & Style. "This way he could donate a large sum to PETA and all he'd have to do is pose for the magazine! It's kind of a win-win situation."

Would you buy the issue, or is Playgirl perhaps overestimating the female population's eagerness to drool over the sculpted abs of a dog killer?

I'd sooner stab myself in the eye than look at Michael Vick, OR send money to PETA. They are not friends to animals, as they think dogs and cats should be put down rather than live life as pets. Please don't support them!

Mike should do it. Then he should be stoned to death which is much better than the fate he subjected on innocent animals. He is an ignorant gutter rat.

I'm appalled by the awful comments here, why the anger at those folks who care about both people AND animals. Be glad our world has caring people in it, and is not filled with brutal bullies like Vick.

"A dog killer" - ooohhh what a bully. Man, everybody kills animals, to eat, to wear, to have fancy shampoo. What's the difference with Vick? Nothing. Either go vegan, or stop complaining about Vick, because you're just as guilty as him.

It's awfully telling to look at the grammar proficiency levels used in these comments. It seems the more ignorant the response, the more incomprehensible the statement. Everyone should take note that malicious violence towards helpless animals (even if just for money as some writers appear to believe is a justifiable reason) is vastly different than the average meat eater's actions. Most people are not aware of the disgusting treatment associated with the meat industry in the US, but would not go home and beat their dog. Finally, who cares how old the picture is? If that is your best rebuttal to this post I hope to see you as opposing counsel someday because I will definitely be made partner at the firm shortly thereafter.
