Streisand's new album will be released September 29.
It has been four years since Babs has released a studio album, so it is with great fanfare that the best-selling female artist is sending out a new single to the masses.
Barbra Streisand is one of those timeless, renaissance women. She is an Oscar winner, a Grammy winner, an Emmy winner and even a Golden Globe winner.
In conjunction with her new album "Love Is The Answer" being released next month (September 29), Streisand has done an insightful interview with "Parade" magazine. For example, do you know what Barbra's favorite color is?
Her new single "Here's To Life" is sure to be well-received amongst her fans, but it's unlikely to be a hit on top of the pop charts. It shows the jazzy influences of producer (and fellow recording artist) Diana Krall. You can listen to the new cut at the Parade article here.

Paula - This song isn't a "single" in the traditional sense of the word and won't be for sale as such and isn't expected to chart anywhere (unless some Adult Contemporary stations decide to play it of their own choice). It is simply a one-off promotional song. You mention "...even a Golden Globe winner" - but the fact is that Streisand has won quite a number of Golden Globes. What would have been more correct to say and which you omitted is "... even a Tony award" as she received an honorary one as "Star of the Decade" many years ago. Add to that her Peabody Awards, Cable Ace Awards, Kennedy Center Honor etc. Her new album is indeed an incredible tour de force and reminds us what a national treasure she is.

I believe that no other female star in the pantheon of show business celebrities has won as many awards in different genres of show business(movies, recordings, television, theater, concerts, etc.) as Barbra has in her illustrious career. The new CD is absolutely wondrous, as Barbra returns to her early 60's roots , and once again exemplifies what it means to be a vocalist who bedazzles merely by opening her mouth and singing words. Her voice alone is a magnificent instrument that conveys all of the passion, emotion, and soul of an artist blessed with rare talent that comes to the fore but once in your lifetime.
Chris is correct. She does possess an honorary Tony Award among the countless others. She is one who comes along once in a lifetime. I pity those who haven't enjoyed the immeasurable talents that she has shared with us. The talent of the century.
Rest assured everyone, I meant no slight by not including every award that Streisand has won! I appreciate your fervor and desire to be accurate. I agree that Barbra is a national treasure and I think Krall's influence will produce a great album.
Correction: There is no 'single' from this cd. "Here's To Life" was simply chosen by Parade Magazine as a sample song.
