Making news
If you fell asleep early last night, you missed a doozy.
No worries, we've got it for you.
Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich showed up on "The Late Show" with David Letterman last night. His message was a familiar tune... he repeated his line about being the "anti-Nixon" and continued to profess his innocence.
Letterman did his usual noble efforts to derail his message. It's the first interview we've heard with a real grilling -- especially when Blago claimed he's been denied due process. But, we wish the audience was more into it. We would have loved more laughter at the most ridiculous responses.
Still, Letterman tackled the good stuff.
Funny moments? Dave asked Blago to set up a clip before playing one of the wire-tapped conversations and if he uses both shampoo and conditioner. The former Governor also explained why he was arrested in a jogging outfit. Boldly, Dave even told a joke about prison and Blago asked for a job.
Perhaps the best line of the night came before Blagojevich even came out when Letterman turned to the camera and said "For the life of me, I have no idea why he is here." Don't worry, Dave. We didn't either.
It had all the elements we love about a Letterman interview. Check it out here:
Incidentally, when Dave introduced the next guest -- actor Richard Jenkins -- he said "and concidentally he'll be going to prison soon, as well."
