Oh what a night!

“Ariel Dorfman's haunting play, based on Kerry Kennedy's extraordinary book, chronicles the true-story accounts of heroic people withstanding horrific human rights abuses across the globe. Voices from around the world cry out against violence and oppression - from world leaders like Desmond Tutu to the unknown activists working on the ground level. SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER is a powerful and moving testimony of the will of the human spirit to rise up against injustice, even in the face of incredible darkness.”

What more could one hope for from an evening of theater and when the voices rise up in a collective effort to engender change we have the makings of an evening to remember. While it is no surprise that the likes of New York’s Public Theater would take on such a multi-faceted endeavor, it should not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

A huge Bravo to “uber fab” and acclaimed actors Meryl Streep, Viggo Mortensen, Paul Sorvino, Julianne Moore,  and Stanley Tucci who participated in “SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER”

Originally a book written by Kerry Kennedy, “SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER” was adapted by playwright Ariel Dorfman for the May 5th performance in order to raise money for Habitat for Humanity’s Relief Efforts in Chile.

Introduced to the project by participating actor Elias Koteas, Goldstein Communications saw the opportunity to strengthen their relationship with Habitat for Humanity for future partnerships.

“We saw an opportunity to get involved and help raise money for this worthy cause by doing what we do best: making the connection.”
- Ari Goldstein CEO Goldstein Communications

Goldstein recognized their clients desire to be involved with a not-for-profit and immediately called Janson-Beckett Cosmeceuticals (co-owned by Paul Sorvino and Ian Strassler) and Reviva Labs. Both leading companies in the skin care industry, Janson-Beckett and Reviva were able to exercise their passion for giving back by making a sizable monetary contribution to Habitat for Humanity as well as the Public Theater, underwrite the event, and donate promotional product to thank the participants for their involvement.

This is one event that will certainly make me stop, think and take action as we can all do more in the wake of human suffering.
