Carrie Underwood to perform at the Grand Ole Opry this Saturday night

Carrie Underwood performing at the Opry on June 9

Country music superstar Carrie Underwood takes the stage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville tomorrow night for the 7:00 and 9:30 performances. Carrie will be joined by Opry legends Clay Walker, Cherryholmes, Jimmy C. Newman, Connie Smith and The Whites. This will be Underwood’s third appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in 2009.

On March 15, 2008, Randy Travis appeared on stage surprising Underwood and inviting her to be the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. On May 10, less than two months later, Garth Brooks came on stage to induct Carrie as the youngest member of the Opry. Since her 2005 American Idol win, Carrie Underwood has gone on to have mega-success, selling more than ten million albums and achieving ten number one hits on the country music charts. This past year, Carrie Underwood received the award for Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards, making her the first female to receive this honor since the Dixie Chicks in 2000 and Shania Twain in 1999. Underwood plans to release her third album, still untitled, later this fall.

If you’re in the Nashville area, standing room tickets are still available for both shows. Visit the Opry website or give them a call to buy your tickets fast, as they are expected to sell out.
