Carrie Underwood proved that you don’t need to be ninety years old to be inducted into a Hall of Fame. Whether it be sports, music, movies or television, most Hall of Fame honors are reserved for candidates that have been in their industry for fifty years. But this Monday, at a Tulsa Press Club news conference, it was announced that Carrie Underwood would be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
Carrie Underwood grew up in Checotah, Oklahoma, a small town outside of Tulsa before attending college in a nearby town. Before her senior year of college, Carrie went on to audition for the hit Fox reality show American Idol. In 2005, Underwood became the Idol winner and went on to have more album success than any other previous idol. In the past four and a half years, Carrie has gone on to win dozens of awards, sell millions of albums and tour with country hit makers Keith Urban and Brad Paisley. In May of 2008, Carrie Underwood was inducted as the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry. In April of 2009, Carrie Underwood broke Kenny Chesney’s streak by winning the Academy of Country Music Award’s coveted Entertainer of the Year award.
Other inductees include Ramona Reed, who has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, and Keyboardist Rocky Frisco. All three inductees are scheduled to perform in Oklahoma on September 17th at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Some bloggers and message boards say that Carrie is still too young to receive this honor and that it should have been reserved for when she was older and more established. But it’s hard to argue the fact that she is one of the most successful names in music to come out of Oklahoma, even if she is only twenty-six years old. What do you think?

carrie deserves, she's so amazing and talented that her age doesn't matter :D
I totally agree. She's accomplished more in these past few years than most have accomplished in a lifetime. Not to mention that she's been so loving and gracious towards her home state. It makes perfect sense for them to acknowledge her, no matter how young she is.
I love Carrie's music! She is totally deserving of this honor. She is the reason I listen to country music. I don't blame her home state for being so proud of her. She is something to be proud of now and forever.
