Could Paranormal Activity be this decades top-grossing winner?
Paranormal Activity is set to become the top-grossing R-rated thriller of the decade according to an exclusive published on Deadline.com. The film, which cost only $11,000 to produce, slayed shock favorite Saw VI in its first weekend of wide release prompting studio executives to sit up and take notice of the little supernatural thriller that could.
Whether or not Paranormal will actually become the top-grossing R-rated thriller of the decade as stated by Paramount insiders to Deadline.com or not is still yet to be seen. However, can its success be the result of the wildly popular marketing campaign that prompted would-be fans to “Demand It” be shown in their hometowns through a tool appropriately called “Demand It?” Or is the success due to horror fans' weariness with torture-based horror flicks such as Saw and unimpressive remakes of Asian horror flicks?
With the runaway success of Paranormal Activity, you can be certain a sequel is on its way even if no official announcement has been made. Let’s just hope that Paramount remembers a little film by the name of “Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2” before they start lining up the songs for the soundtrack.

Great article, I love your writing. In fact I like it so much, look behind you on twitter...it's me! I love scary movies but it turns out they aren't as scary as I had hoped. This one sounds like it may be different. May have to find a big woman to take to either protect me or offer up as bait! Good stuff as always KK.
