Vampire-Con 2009: The world's first vampire convention

Cover art for the comic series, Vampirella

Your eyes do not deceive you. This is not a  vampire booth at E3 or Comic-Con; this is the big-kahuna of specialized conventions, and with the new cycle of vampire hype, there could not be a more perfect time for a convention of this gourmet delicacy to be served to us on a silver platter. Whether you are a Twilight inductee, or a Dracula master, this convention is bound to offer you a hot shower to warm that pale skin of yours.

Vampire-Con 2009, the first of it's kind is being held in Los Angeles, Aug. 14-16, and it's got quite the line up-

August 14th-15th

Gordon Melton, author of The Vampire Book: An Encyclopedia of the Undead, Del Howison, co-author of Dark Delicacies - America's Home of Horror and Bram-Stoker award-winning editor...and many, many more...

Once the sun dips out of view and the moon signals the vampires to rise, Vampirella's Ball begins at 8:30pm, transforming the lecture rooms of the Music Box Theatre, into a night of pure decadence. Tickets are $30 in advance, $45 at the door. 18 and over with a valid ID.

As if August 16th wasn't special enough, it is the 53rd anniversary of Bela Lugosi's passing. Vampire-Con is keeping the spirit of Hollywood's greatest Dracula alive.

Keep your eyes peeled for a first-hand account article on Monday, August 17th, and hopefully a few pictures of Lestat and Eric Northman.
