One of New Year's Eve's most popular traditions is watching the crystal ball drop in New York's Times Square. Revelers are currently gathering in Times Square amidst tight security to usher in 2010.
However, for those who can't be there in person, the Internet will provide live streaming of the ball drop. Network and cable television will also have a variety of programs to celebrate the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010.
The perennial favorite, Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve with Ryan Seacrest will begin at 9:00 CST on ABC. It's the 38th consecutive airing of the New Year's program. Hosts Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest will help usher in the New Year with performances from Daughtry and Jennifer Lopez in New York and from Las Vegas, the Black Eyed Peas, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and Colbie Callait, among others.
NBC will air New Year's Eve with Carson Daly also beginning at 9:00 CST. Performers include Jay-Z, Rihanna and others.
CNN will have correspondent Anderson Cooper and comedian Kathy Griffin live on the ground at Times Square starting at 10:00 CST.
If there is no television at your New Year's Eve party, don't fret. Watch the ball drop live on the web with a computer or iPhone right here. The video below will be livestreaming the festivities in Times Square all night long.
Have a safe and a happy New Year!
