Comments
"The Associated Press voted..". Not really. Actually, it's "voted by U.S. newspaper and broadcast editors surveyed by The Associated Press."(1st link on your article). Other than that, no contest really for the two top spots, the following entries are debatable though.
i miss michael jackson so much! And i think this was the most shocking news of the year
we miss you michael
We will all miss you my wonderful michael you will live forever through your spirit, music, and love.
May you rest in peace, Michael Jackson. Have a Merry Christmas in heaven.
2001 will be remembered for the 9/11 terror attacks. 2009 will be remembered as the year that the King of Pop, Michael Jackson died. Two events along with Kennedy's assassination that everyone knows where they were when they heard the shocking news. MJ's music defined my youth and the eighties. He was my generation's Elvis. We will never forget you Michael, many of us still mourn your death 6 months later. We knew that our youth was over when you left this world. R.I.P.
