"I wanted you to hear this directly from me...These years, you, our viewers have enriched my life beyond all measure," Oprah said, breaking into tears.
"And you all have graciously invited me into your living room, into your kitchens and into your lives.
I want you all to know that my relationship with you is one that I hold very dear," Winfrey continued. "And your trust in me and sharing of your precious time every day with me has brought me the greatest joy."
The real reason that Oprah's ending her show on September 9, 2011, is because the show that's been her life and her love for a quarter of a century "feels right in her bones and spirit" to end after 25 years, she said, and she loves the show enough to know when it's time to say goodbye.
"The exact right time..." is what Oprah called the Harpo Productions Inc. talk show's end in videos flowing in to YouTube.com of Oprah Winfrey's pivotal announcement that came during the live broadcast of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in Chicago during the 9 a.m. hour.
The daytime television show queen made no mention in the YouTube.com video of Mayor Daley's comments suggesting recent complaints from the media of Oprah closing down Michigan Avenue contributed to the show's end after 25 seasons on the air.
