This reporter, too, searched around for news of Lil Wayne's 2009 sentence hearing -- wondering if the rapper who pled guilty on weapons charges Thursday would immediately be sentenced to jail and have to report some time in 2009 .
Turns out the beleaguered and curious artist -- who won fans in droves with what some say is the best flow and cadence of any rapper to date, in underground mixtapes whose audio reveals Lil Wayne ripping out the pages to his journal of all the rhymes he'd never have to say again -- apparently won't face any jail time in 2009, and is expected to return to court in February 2010 for his expected 1-year sentencing hearing, reports MSNBC.
But Lil Wayne is due back in court on both December 15, 2009 -- and in March 2010 in Arizona, the latter appearance to face drug and weapons charges. Throughout his court appearance on Thursday, Lil Wayne reportedly answered "Yes, sir" and "No, sir" -- and TMZ.com caught video of the former Cash Money Millionaires' member beneath his hooded, furry parka not responding to questions about his babies and "being strapped" wherever he goes.
“I’m not one of those people,” Lil Wayne told State Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon, after he warned Lil Wayne that he couldn't withdraw his guilty plea.

I really hate to see Lil Wayne go to jail. He is such a good rapper, and he needs to be home with his kids and wife. He just dosent deserve this. :(

I dont understand why the police are just now putting him in jail. this happened in 2007, this is 2009. this dosent make any sence. I really like Lil Wayne, and he is a good person. I mean every celebrity gets into trouble, and most of them dont go to jail or anything, and what they usually do is worse.i really disagree on what the police are doing.

Lil Wayne is Lil Wayne, he is who he is. And he really is a good person and people just dont see that, they always look at what he did wrong,and think that he is soooo bad and he really isnt.
if you understand the way the court system works, it is no surprise that it has taken 2 years to come to this. Lil wayne has good lawyers who have post-ponded what they knew would happen from the start, also he was in a pled talk with the DA, which takes negoations. Another thing is, he is charged with a felony, its not like a traffic ticket where they handle them every week of the year, felonies are only handled by suprior courts, what only meet during certien times of the year depending on the location. If you notice in the picture he is wearing a blue scarf, which is the crips color, most people will say he is a false blood because of this, but if you really know about it, real gang bangers do this to hide their affilation in the court system. I doubt he will serve all his time in PC, in most prisons PC is in the same cell area's as segeration, or what you may know as the hole, which is a misserable place to be, he will want to be in gen. pop where he will have more freedom.
