Finally, runner up David Archuleta, from American Idol's season 7 is coming to Baltimore. He will appear in concert at The Lyric next Tuesday, 12/15/09.
Archuleta comes from a Latino musical background and wasn't familiar with pop music until he became mesmerized by Tamyra Gray when she opened the Top 30 semifinals with her memorable performance of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." It was the first time he was aware of how expressive music could be, and what it was like to vocalize emotions. This was a pivotal moment of his that led him to who he is today. David was even lucky enough to go to a taping of the first season of American Idol and was able to sing for the contestants including Kelly Clarkson (who is in the red hat) while his father captured it on video.
When David was 11 years old, he appeared on The Jenny Jones show in 2002 and later appeared on Star Search Season 2 in 2003. This is when he became ill with bronchitis and appendicitis and was diagnosed with vocal paralysis. David needed vocal therapy and it took years of frustration and hard work, but he was able to regain his voice and became old enough to audition for American Idol.
His self-titled album has had three songs debut at once on The Billboard Hot 100 and his latest album, Christmas from the Heart is available now. David will sing a combination of holiday songs mixed with his original songs from his first album.

I will be at that concert in Baltimore and am so looking forward to it. There's no voice like David's to get you in the Christmas spirit. He's even better live than on his cd's. Go see him if you can! :)
I can't wait till Baltimore show. David is very talented. He sings in 4 languages on his CD (French, Spanish, Latin and English) and the songs sound even better live. He commands the stage and his voice carries a mile!
You don't have to tell me how his sounds live! I've got to say - he has the most gorgeous voice ever! I've never known an artist who can sing better live than their CD! He's incredible! If you haven't gone to one of his concerts check him out and you'll see!

I have been to two of David's concerts and let me tell you they are phenominal! He has the ability to sing just as good or even better than his CD which says alot because Christmas From the Heart is the best Christmas CD I have ever heard. Everyone should have it in their collection.

But I did buy 13 copies of David's CD to give to friends and family for Christmas! They all LOVE it too! What a voice!!!

David Archuleta is phenomenal! His voice just SOARS on songs like O Holy Night and Ave Marie. But he also sings FUN songs like his duet with Charice! His live performances are to DIE for!! Definitely gonna be there!
