Ringo Starr got a special treat for his 70th birthday last night. Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney showed up at Ringo's All Starr concert at Radio City Music Hall and sang the Beatles' song "Birthday" to his friend and former bandmate. Ringo played drums while McCartney, 68, sang at the microphone. Paul and Ringo hugged and kissed after the song was over. What a treat for all the Beatles fans in the audience! Last year, Paul and Ringo appeared together at the 'Change Begins Within' benefit concert for the David Lynch Foundation.

Earlier in the day at noon, Ringo Starr celebrated "Peace & Love" with fans in Times Square. Ringo called for fans to celebrate his 70th birthday by saying "Peace & Love" in honor of his birthday at noon all around the world.
A small birthday celebration for Ringo was then held inside the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. Ringo, accompanied by wife, Barbara Bach, was presented with a large sheet cake decorated with the picture of a hand with two fingers gesturing the peace sign. (See PHOTOS below)

I'm in the midst of You Never Give me Your Money by Peter Doggett; in it, he deals primarily with all the (depressing) entanglements of the post Beatles throughout the seventies..very tough book to get through in spots. All that comes to mind, given Paul's appearance, is how times have changed..and how, truly, too late it is. While we couldn't have done anything to prevent George's death, it's mind boggling to consider how differently history MIGHT have played out if Paul and John had made stronger efforts to bury their proverbial hatchets.
I was there and it was awesome. Was it truly a surprise? I don't know about that... I wasn't even surprised I took the trip because I knew it would happen. I was more surprised by a story that Paul was sitting in the audience Does anyone know about that?
Pretty amazing! 70, wow! 70 is the new 50! Go Ringo!!!!!!!
I planned a family NYC vacation with my husband and 15 year old son to see Ringo Starr(flew from Charlotte NC) ..What an icing on the cake with PAUL there...I thought I had died and went to heaven.. Last year I had seen the group RAIN and I thought and told myself that would be the closest I would ever got to the real thing... but what a total shock to see two of my icons from the 60's in ONE place.. and Yoko too... The BEST CONCERT EVER..
Oh yes were going to a party part oh no I didn't go to Ringo's party party oh I wish I was at ringo's party party! I REALLY WISH I was there but cannot for I am a poor 11-year old:(
I was there and it was surley beyond words. I had a feeling Paul would be there, and when he came on, I couldn't help myself and started to cry, scream, sing, and laugh. I couldn't stop shaking for the whole night into the next day. I still get excited everytime I talk about it. I think I was the only thirteen year old that actually cried, but I may be wrong. I never really knew why girls would cry during the Beatlemania phenomenon, but I know why now, for I would have been one of them. It gets to you. Thinking that you are in the same room as the only two surviving Beatles. Think about it. Seeing Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney in concert was kind of like The Beatles meeting Elvis. Overall, it was a brilliant concert. It was my first and most rememberable concert. I guess all there is left to say is bravo Ringo and Paul, bravo.
to all of you who saw Ringo and Paul live.....you're all REALLY lucky!!!!! Half The Beatles reunited! A very special moment, indeed. I would've cheered, screamed, and cried as well.
