January 18 - At last night's Golden Globes awards show, there were an abundance of moving and emotional award acceptance speeches. A few that stand out include Meryl Streep's speech when accepting the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for "Julie and Julia".

"In my long career, I've played so many extraordinary women that basically I'm getting mistaken for one," Meryl said. "I'm very clear that I'm a vessel for other people's stories and other women's lives."

Streep then goes on to describe how she paid homage to her mother in her role as Julia Child since her mother shared the same enthusiasm for life as Julia.

Sandra Bullock who won for Best Actress In A Motion Picture Drama for "The Blind Side" said, "I might not be the most talented, but I've been given opportunity." In describing the Tuohy family, who her movie "The Blind Side" is based on, Bullock said, "They reminded everyone that a family is not just who you were born to, or what color you are, it's who's got your back."

Then she ended by addressing her husband, Jesse James, "There's no surprise that my work got better when I met you, because I never knew what it felt like for someone to have my back." (See Video)
